Last week we took to the streets for your opinions, on whether today’s current music is manufactured for profit rather than based on talent. Most people believe that the current music is sold as a brand, this means the music is no longer the only selling point but instead the music videos and advertising that accompany the song as well as the artists usually outlandish performance, forms a brand to sell their music.
We asked the general public in Lincoln’s high street, many questions regarding modern music, as well as their views on what talent shows such as The X-Factor bring to the music industry. Below you can listen to some of the full interviews of our vox pops with the public.
If you have any opinions on the questions we asked and want your say, visit the contact us page on our website, we want to hear from you!
Also last week our presenters Emma Heaps and Ella Harrison visited a local record store in Lincoln, Back To Mono.We spoke with Jim the record shop owner and he told us whether the sales for LP’s have fallen now that CD’s and downloads are now the most popular method for getting music.
